Involvement
Professional Experience
As an Undergraduate Research Assistant, I efficiently administered cognitive screenings for participants and executed experiments in a sound booth using specialized sound equipment. I collaborated weekly with lab members to discuss our progress and prepare a poster for presentation, enhancing my research skills and understanding of speech perception. My time in the BLAO lab I conducted an independent literature review on the effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on speech and language, analyzing and organizing studies for a published research paper. I also designed and presented my research poster to faculty and the public, which improved my presentation skills and ability to communicate complex information.
Presentation
My poster presentation titled "Oxygenating Voices: Hyperbaric Therapy for Speech-Language Recovery" was showcased at the Public Health and Health Professions Research Day in Gainesville, FL, in April 2024. I will also present this research at the Undergraduate Research Symposium in March 2025. These experiences will allow me to effectively communicate my findings to a diverse audience, enhancing my presentation skills.
